These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the AgentSpec website (agentspec.sh), the AgentSpec desktop application, and the agentspec-cli command-line tool (collectively, the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Service description
AgentSpec is a public registry of configuration templates (“Configs”), skills, rules, plugins, and specs intended for use with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, Cline, and similar tools. The Service allows you to browse, search, publish, vote on, and install these resources.
2. Accounts
To publish content or vote with full weight, you must sign in with a GitHub account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us at support@agentspec.sh if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. User-generated content
You retain ownership of any configuration, skill, rule, plugin, spec, comment, or other material you submit (“User Content”). By publishing User Content you grant AgentSpec a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, cache, and create necessary derivative versions (e.g. format conversions, shell install scripts) for the purpose of operating the Service.
You represent that you have the right to grant this license, and that your User Content does not infringe any third party’s rights. Do not submit content that is malicious, illegal, defamatory, or otherwise prohibited by these Terms.
4. Crawled content
AgentSpec may include publicly available configurations, skills, and rules that have been discovered and indexed from third-party sources (e.g. public GitHub repositories, directories of agent configurations). Where reasonably possible, each such item preserves attribution to its original source via the “Source” link on the detail page.
If you are the rights holder of indexed content and wish to have it removed, please follow the DMCA / takedown procedure in Section 5.
5. DMCA / takedown policy
If you believe content on AgentSpec infringes your copyright, send a written notice to support@agentspec.sh that includes:
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
- The URL(s) of the allegedly infringing material on AgentSpec
- Your contact information (name, email, postal address, phone)
- A good-faith statement that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the rights holder
- Your electronic or physical signature
We will review complete notices promptly and remove or disable access to allegedly infringing material as appropriate. Counter-notifications follow the procedure in 17 U.S.C. § 512(g).
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Violate any applicable law or infringe any third party’s rights
- Upload content that contains malware, credentials, personal data of others, or is otherwise harmful
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation
- Attempt to disrupt, interfere with, or overload the Service (scraping at a rate that harms availability, circumventing rate limits, etc.)
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code of the desktop app or CLI beyond what is permitted by applicable law
- Use the Service to train machine-learning models without express written permission
7. Desktop app and CLI
The AgentSpec desktop app and agentspec-cli command-line tool are distributed as binaries under the MIT License (see the LICENSE file bundled with each release). The licensing applies to the client binaries only; it does not grant rights to the Service backend source code, which is proprietary.
8. Service changes and availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may impose rate limits, storage quotas, and other restrictions to maintain service reliability.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY CONFIG, SKILL, RULE, OR PLUGIN WILL WORK CORRECTLY WITH YOUR AGENT, YOUR CODEBASE, OR YOUR WORKFLOW, NOR THAT IT IS FREE OF ERRORS OR SECURITY VULNERABILITIES. REVIEW AND TEST ALL CONTENT BEFORE USE.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AGENTSPEC AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR REPUTATION, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD 100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold AgentSpec and its operators harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorney’s fees) arising from (a) your User Content, (b) your use of the Service in violation of these Terms, or (c) your infringement of any third-party right.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without cause, including if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by emailing support@agentspec.sh.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the changelog page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute shall be resolved exclusively in the competent courts located in Seoul, Republic of Korea, unless applicable consumer protection law grants you the right to bring action in your own jurisdiction.
