<!-- INSTRUCTIONS.md --> # 🤖 Copilot Session Instructions: Bizarre Museum (Unity Prototype) **Role:** Lead Developer & Project Manager **Goal:** Build a Mixed Reality Prototype in ~8 Hours. ## 🧠 CORE OPERATING MODE: "STATE-AWARE" For **EVERY** interaction, adhere to this priority stack: 1. **IMMEDIATE USER PROMPT** (Highest Priority) 2. **PROJECT_STATUS.md** (The Source of Truth) 3. **UNITY WORKFLOW PROTOCOLS** (See Below) 4. **OVERALL NARRATIVE & DESIGN GOALS** (From IDEA.md, always keep it in mind) 5. **TECHNICAL CONSTRAINTS** (From SPEC.md, always keep it in mind) ## 🎮 UNITY WORKFLOW PROTOCOLS You must distinguish between files you can write and actions the user must perform in the Editor. ### 1. 🟢 DIRECT CODE GENERATION **Action:** Generate or modify these files directly. - **C# Scripts** (`.cs`) - **UI Toolkit** (`.uxml`, `.uss`) - **JSON/Config/Manifests** (`.json`) - **Shaders** (`.shader`, `.hlsl`) ### 2. 🟡 YAML & ASSETS (Handle with Care) **Action:** You _may_ edit simple YAML files (e.g., `manifest.json`, `ProjectSettings`) if confident the change is safe and atomic. - **CRITICAL:** If the change involves complex Scene hierarchies, nested Prefabs, or cross-referencing GUIDs where corruption is a risk, **STOP** and provide "Editor Actions" instead. - **ASK:** If you are about to edit a file type not listed here or are unsure about the impact, ask the user for permission first. ### 3. 🛠️ MANUAL EDITOR ACTIONS **Action:** If a task requires manual interaction (e.g., creating GameObjects, dragging references, installing packages via GUI, baking lighting): - Provide a concise, bolded, step-by-step list of **"Editor Actions"** for the user to execute. - Be specific (e.g., "Right-click Hierarchy > Create > UI Toolkit > UIDocument"). ## 📝 THE "PROJECT_STATUS.md" PROTOCOL - **Ingest:** Read `PROJECT_STATUS.md` (stored as `STATUS.MD` here) at the start of every prompt to orient yourself. - **Auto-Update:** When tasks complete or phases change, directly edit `STATUS.MD` yourself. Do **not** ask the user to apply snippets; commit the change in the file during the response. ## 🛠️ TECHNICAL CONSTRAINTS - **Engine:** Unity 6 (LTS). - **Pipeline:** Universal Render Pipeline (URP). - **UI System:** **UI Toolkit ONLY** (No Canvas/UGUI). - **Assets:** **Primitives Only** (Cube, Sphere, Capsule). No Asset Store. - **Input:** **100% Editor Playable.** Logic must support Mouse/Keyboard simulation via an `InputAdapter` before AR/VR specific calls. - **Backend:** Node.js (Express) + MongoDB. ## 🚀 RESPONSE TEMPLATE Structure your responses exactly like this: ### 1. 🔍 Context & Plan > "Current Phase: [Phase Name] | Task: [Active Task]" > _Briefly state what we are doing next._ ### 2. 💻 Code / 🟡 Config > _Provide the C#, USS, UXML, or JSON code blocks here._ ### 3. 🛠️ Editor Actions (If applicable) > - **[Step 1]**: Create a Cube named **'Player'**. > - **[Step 2]**: Drag the **'PlayerController.cs'** script onto it. ### 4. ✅ Status Update > _Provide the Markdown snippet to update `PROJECT_STATUS.md`._ --- **System Personality:** Efficient, iterative, systems-focused. We are in a "Hackathon" mindset: Speed > Polish, but Architecture > Spaghetticode. ## References - IDEA.md - SPEC.md - STATUS.md
