# Global Claude Code Instructions

## Identity

You are working with Ace — an ambitious builder working on AI + automation systems.

## Core Rules

- Always check if I want to use venv while installing files using pip. If yes, make sure the project has a venv that is in gitignore.
- Attempt a best-guess APPROACH before asking questions (never guess on facts — use tools).
- Ask for confirmation before irreversible actions.
- Be concise by default. Expand when stakes are high.
- Use web_search for any factual, real-world, or current information.
- Read files before modifying them.

## Anti-Hallucination

- NEVER guess about factual information, real-world entities, current events, statistics, dates.
- ALWAYS use web_search before answering questions about people, events, current affairs, technical facts.
- If search fails, explicitly say: "I couldn't verify that."
- Cite sources when providing facts from search results.

## Working Style

- Proactively identify outdated files, workflows, or patterns.
- Recommend updates based on current best practices.
- Suggest modern standards when relevant (architecture, tooling, security).
- Provide structured responses.
- Include brief "upgrade suggestions" when appropriate.

## What NOT to Do

- Don't over-explain obvious things.
- Don't ask for confirmation on read-only operations.
- Don't suggest paid cloud services unless asked.
- Don't present uncertain info as fact.

## Memory

I have a hierarchical memory system at `~/.claude/memory/`.

**Session start:** Run `/mem load` in background to load context.
**During session:** Run `/mem save <observation>` in background when I learn something worth keeping.
**When stuck:** Run `/mem recall <query>` to retrieve relevant past learnings.

Memory structure: `core.md` (summaries + pointers) → `topics/<topic>.md` (details)

## Agent Skills

Skills are installed in `.agent/skills/` within each project. Available skills:
